Pocket door pull – Pocket doors are a popular door type for closets and bathrooms. Last step in implementation of a pocket door installation, installation of door features which consists of a flush edge leverage to pull door out of pocket and a finger groove on each side used to push door closed. How do it? First, Mark a line on leading pocket door edge. Second, Place cutting template with pocket door pull door edge, centered on line marked in step. Use an awl to mark inside corners of template’s cut line on door face.

Repeat Step 2 for opposite side of door.  Use a hand square to join a vertical pencil line on inside corner points of notch marked in steps 2 and 3, then select a box horizontal line from corner point to edge of pocket door pull on both sides of door.  Score pencil lines marked in step 4 with a utility knife to cut through door surface to about 1/8 inch. This will help to prevent chipping surface of door when cutting notch in door.

Next, Cut notch of door edge a jigsaw, to make certain of keeping wing to inside of lines scored in Step 5 in order to minimize chipping of door surface.
